We are located in the municipality of Monte Belo do Sul, close to Bento Gonçalves in Serra Gaucha, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We currently have 15 hectares of total area, five of which are Demeter certified biodynamic vineyards. In addition to biodynamics, we also use homeopathic treatments in the vineyards to provide greater integration. We only make wines from our own grapes that are biodynamic. In wineries, we naturally vinify our wines from our own grapes and with wild yeasts, zero addition of sulfites (SO2), without filtering or adding any oenological input to the wine. There is only one thing in the bottle: biodynamic grapes and nothing else. Winemaker Edgar Giordani is a musician by training but after many years he studied Enology and postgraduate studies in Biodynamics. He completed internships in Italy in biodynamic wineries, always pursuing his dream of making his own biodynamic wines. The area we are currently in was acquired because it has a green belt of native forest around it. Therefore, we have no contact with neighbors and no risk of contamination with pesticides. We also have our restaurant called Locanda di Lucca on the property, which will become a guesthouse soon as well. At the restaurant, people can pair the organic and biodynamic tasting menu with our natural wines. The ingredients used are organic and biodynamic, many of them produced in-house.
