We are Vert winery and distillery, producing natural wines and spirits in Serbia. We are a team of two. Milena Radenkovic and Dejan Stojanović. We met in 2017, and decided to join our capacities, knowledge and experience to create Vert, natural wines and spirits that are in line with our way of life and philosophy. Our approach to viticulture and winemaking is to use all the biological characteristics of the grapes that grow in the specific micro location of the vineyards, to obtain fresh natural wines with primary fruity flavours and aromas, without sliding into tertiary taste. We perceive our vineyard as a living organism. This is why we do not have a plan, but we observe it with the seasons and support it only when it is needed. Our 27 ha vineyard is located in the Pearl Island natural park, surrounded by two rivers and lies in the old riverbed that has been moving for millions of years, leaving minerals and organic nutrients. The vine was planted 23 years ago, and the soil is alluvial. On this special micro location we obtain very special grapes that allow us to make no intervention wines. Every single decision is taken in the vineyard depending on the current situation, for example we measure the humidity and decide on the height of the weeds related to it. We are also very careful when using natural treatments, because we observed that too much natural stimulants change the character of the grapes/wines/ brandies. We attempt to feel what is going on in the vineyard. By nurturing the vineyard like this, we preserve the native yeasts needed to produce natural wines with local characteristics. All wines are made by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, long skin contact, aging on fine lees mostly in stainless steel to protect the freshness or in pre used oak barrels. Minimum sulfites are added (max 40mg/l). Wines are unfiltered. We also produce single varieties wine brandy by double distilling these natural wines in traditional copper pot stills. Our aim is to obtain wines that are close to the grapes- fruity, fresh and aromatic.
