History For three generations the Mattioli family has been involved in agriculture and in particular wine has always played an important working aspect by virtue of its original food function. The company has been bottling for about 5 years, but also paying particular attention to bulk, which represents an important part of the business economy and clearly demonstrates the concept of quality spread across the entire range. The vineyards The choice of varieties was dictated by historical tradition, a sort of photograph of what was already planted before the Second World War. Therefore, in addition to local vines such as the native Trebbiano typical of southern Umbria (60-year-old vineyard) and Sangiovese (which covers most of the vineyard) there are varieties that can be defined traditional according to the age of the plants that goes over 40 years and are Barbera, Merlot and Greco. Respect for the cycles of nature and the total absence of herbicides, pesticides and weeding, have placed the company in the sphere of natural wine for unsuspected times. In the basement Spontaneous fermentations are carried out at free temperatures and no sulfur is added in bottling. The containers are made of concrete glass, resin glass and steel…. large wood is still being tested. Only decanting is carried out according to the lunar cycle and we rely on the rigors of winter to make the wines clear.

La storia
 
Da tre generazioni la famiglia Mattioli si occupa di agricoltura e in particolare il vino ha rivestito da sempre un importante aspetto lavorativo in virtù della sua originaria funzione alimentare.

Da circa 5 anni l’azienda imbottiglia, riservando però una particolare attenzione anche allo sfuso, che rappresenta una parte importante dell’economia aziendale e testimonia con chiarezza il concetto di qualità spalmato su tutta la gamma.

I vigneti

La scelta delle varietà è stata dettata dalla tradizione storica, un sorta di fotografia di quello che era piantato già prima della seconda guerra mondiale.

Pertanto oltre ai vitigni locali come l’autoctono Trebbiano tipico del sud dell’ Umbria (vigneto di 60 anni) e il Sangiovese (che copre la maggior parte del vitato) ci sono varietà che possono essere definite tradizionali in funzione dell’età delle piante che va oltre i 40 anni e sono Barbera, Merlot e Greco.

Il rispetto dei cicli della natura e la totale assenza di erbicidi, pesticidi e diserbi, inquadrano l’azienda nella sfera del vino naturale già da tempi non sospetti.

In cantina

Si praticano fermentazioni spontanee a temperature libere e non si aggiunge solforosa in imbottigliamento. I contenitori sono di vetro cemento, vetro resina e acciaio…. il legno grande è ancora in fase di sperimentazione. Si effettuano solo travasi in funzioni del ciclo lunare e ci si affida ai rigori dell’inverno per rendere limpidi i vini.
